Nominees require sign off from the CEO of their relevant Council to validate their contribution to the Victorian community. As part of this endorsement, the nominating Council is required to fund the cost of the nominee’s attendance at the 2024 LGPro Women’s Network Dinner where the winner of the award will be announced.

The successful nominee must use the scholarship award to further her education by undertaking a component of an approved tertiary course within Australia or at an overseas educational institution. Overseas courses must be able to be credited through Australian institutions. Nominees are required to:

• Complete the online nomination form
• Address the selection criteria
• Attach a copy of their CV
• Attach their most recent academic record as proof that they can undertake a university or other tertiary course
• Attach three electronic photos
• Nominees who are not council employees are required to attach a letter from their organisation confirming their position title and achievements or supervisor’s/referees contact details and an Endorsement Form.

Shortlisted nominees may be required to address a panel interview as part of the selection process.

The winner will be interviewed for an article in a future edition of LGPro’s Profile magazine and again at the end of their scholarship. Details about the winner may also appear in LGPro’s and ACF’s communications, including but not limited to media releases and social media.

Submissions must be completed online by Monday 19 August 2024.

Please note that if the nominee being considered for this Award is not a Council employee, endorsement must be sought by your relevant Council before submitting the completed online nomination.

As part of this process, the Chief Executive Officer must sign off on the Endorsement form and agree to fund your attendance at the 2024 Women’s Network Dinner. As Council may require to see a hardcopy of your nomination before signing off on it is advisable to print off a hard copy and take it in with you.

Please note that your nomination will not be considered valid without this endorsement. There is provision with the online platform to input details, save a draft copy and print off your nomination before it is submitted.

The winner will be announced at the 2024 LGPro Women’s Network Dinner to be held on 16 November at Pullman on the Park, 192 Wellington Parade, East Melbourne. Should the nominee be unable to attend, a proxy is required to attend on their behalf.

The award recipient will receive a $10,000 educational scholarship to undertake a component of a relevantand approved tertiary course in Australia or overseas on an issue or area of work that will contribute to theimprovement community life. Refer to the Australian Taxation Office’s guidelines on what constitutes an approved course.

The award recipient will be required to provide a written account of how they intend to use the funds. The $10,000 educational scholarship will be issued by the Australian Communities Foundation to the award recipient on receipt of written confirmation of enrolment in their course.

The award recipient will be required to use the funds within a reasonable time frame and provide a written report or presentation to the Australian Communities Foundation within 12 months of completion of the course.
